Are you ready to become an Account Manager? An account manager is a person who works for a company and is responsible for the management of sales and relationships with particular customers.  They manage the relationship with the client of the account(s) they are assigned to. Account management can lead to very lucrative careers. As the “face” of your employer, you will ensure each client of yours is matched with the right products and services your company offers. Here are a few of our favorite questions to review when preparing for an account manager job interview.

1)      What is your favorite productivity tool and why? It is crucial for account managers to keep organized, and employers will want to know exactly how you do this. Be ready to list any tools you use to track clients, plan your day, manage your time, etc.

2)      What is it so important to establish long term relationships with clients and customers? If possible, use examples from your past work here to explain how you gained the trust of your clients.

3)      Describe a situation in which you were able to handle a dissatisfied client? Almost all employers will ask to see how you handle this question. They want to know how you will handle a dissatisfied client and not lose their business.

4)      If you could snap your fingers and change one thing in your personality what would it be and why? Expect an off-the-wall interview question. These are becoming more and more common, and it’s a great way for a hiring manager to get a good sense of your personality based off of how you answer.
